Enborne Lodge will be taking part in Pangbourne Fete 2024 this year, with a Gazebo from the province contributing to the membership challenge.
As every year the Rotary Club of Pangbourne organises the Charity Dragon Boat Challenge, we decided to create a crew to participate in this event and also as a way to bring together our masonic brethren and families and show the community our values.
So, please join us in this initiative.
The racing will be on Saturday 08th June at Pangbourne Meadows. Once again we are part of the renowned Pangbourne Fete with its great variety of stalls, entertainment, food and drink.
A whole day’s competitive friendly fun for only about £35 per person.
A team consists of 17 people. In each race, led by their drummer beating out the rhythm for paddling, 16 people form the crew and paddle a dragon boat (a large ornate canoe) along a course of about 250 metres, racing against other teams. Each team will have a minimum of 3 races. The teams with the best times go forward to the finals. No one under 12 years of age may participate
If we have a lot of interested parties, we can have more than one boat !
Net raised funds this year will be donated locally.
Only those who are going to race have to pay, friends, family and brethren who are just going to watch and support don’t have to pay the fee.
